MOTHERWELL are aiming to attract a bumper crowd for Saturday's vital Premier League clash with Aberdeen by cutting admission prices to £5 for home and away supporters of all ages.
A win for Mark McGhee's side would be a significant step towards claiming third place in the league and qualifying for the Uefa Cup for the first time in 13 years

"Saturday's match against Aberdeen is our most important match of the season," said John Boyle, the Motherwell chairman. "In the Scottish football world, coming third is winning the league for us.

"We simply can't do any better, which makes this one of the most important matches we have played in over a decade.

"Attendances have been poor of late, especially at crucial matches such as Dundee United a few weeks ago, so we want to try and establish what our true fan base is, and Saturday's vital match gives us such an opportunity."

McGhee added: "I would like every Motherwell fan who can to get up and go for us on Saturday. It is no less than this team deserves."

Oh Vienna,

I'd like to commend Motherwell on such a sensible decision. Teams like Motherwell deserve much larger crowds than they currently get but at least the club is doing something positive for this important match.

I'd like to see other clubs do likewise when their game is live on TV. Charging in the region of £25 is bad enough at the best of times but it's much worse when the game is being shown on television. All that does is fill the pubs and ensure a stadium of empty seats for the TV audience.
