'Devastated' star Amanda Holden grieves loss of second baby

Actress and Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has revealed she has lost the baby boy she was expecting.

The TV star was seven months pregnant when she lost the child earlier this week, her agent confirmed yesterday.

The television celebrity was admitted to West Middlesex Hospital in Isleworth, west London, after the baby stopped moving. It was later stillborn.

Ms Holden, 39, and her husband Chris Hughes, a record producer, are said to be "utterly devastated" at the loss.

The actress, who also lost a baby last year, did not announce her most recent pregnancy until January when she was six months pregnant. The couple already have a five-year-old daughter named Lexi.

The couple's spokeswoman Alison Griffin said: "They are utterly devastated. Amanda had been monitored throughout her pregnancy and it is not known what went wrong.

"Both Chris and Amanda would like to thank the midwives and staff at the Queen Mary Maternity unit."

The couple have received messages of sympathy from celebrity friends, including Emma Bunton and Davina McCall.
