Masked man robs shop at knifepoint

A MASKED robber wielding a knife threatened staff at a shop before making off with a three-figure sum of cash from the till.

The armed man, wearing a balaclava, entered the Best One shop in Nigel Rise in Dedridge, Livingston at about 4.45pm on Saturday.

The suspect threatened the two members of staff and demanded they open the till, before fleeing with the money.

The suspect is described as white, about 5ft 8in tall, slim build, wearing black clothing.

Police said two customers were also in the store at the time of the robbery.

A police spokesman said: "Thankfully the victims were uninjured, however they are understandably distressed as a result of this ordeal, and we are appealing for any information that can help us trace the man responsible. Similarly, anyone who recognises the description should get in touch with police as a matter of urgency."
