Gang warfare

GANGING up would be a more apt title than Better Together as yet again it seems the Tories, Labour, and Liberal Democrats are able to put aside whatever differences they insist they have to do their utmost to do down the SNP ahead of the forthcoming election.

In the Aberdeenshire seat being contested by Alex Salmond there are already, according to reports, alliances being brokered between the Lib Dems and either or both of the other main parties to gang up against Scotland’s former First Minister.

In the precincts of Westminster the rumours keep swishing about that Labour and the Lib-Dems might cobble together a coalition that was declined at the last general election. Few would be shocked, or even much surprised, if a deal was done among the three aforementioned parties to ensure that Scotland didn’t arrive at any post-election negotiating table.

In most other parts of the world there would be an admission that this is plain and simple ganging up, or if you want a coarser expression, gang warfare.

ALL who voted No in the September referendum should think very carefully before putting their X on the ballot paper on 7 May.

In September we were not voting for politicians but for the future of the United Kingdom although the SNP did its best to heap opprobrium on the Labour Party and the Lib Dems for supporting the Conservatives. Of course, that was despicable behaviour as these parties were fighting for what they believed in and that was the preservation of the Union.

On 7  May the vote ought to be about electing the representative of the party of your choice but, unfortunately due to the SNP ignoring the decision of the people and pursuing its aim of an independent Scotland, your votes, as in the referendum, will be about saving the Union.

I hope all those who voted No recognise this and place their X in a box that will limit the number of SNP members sent to Westminster.
