Pub worker took £1000

A PUB worker ripped off his employers to the tune of nearly £1000, a court heard.

Darren Reape took the cash while he was working at a village pub not far from his home.

Reape, 19, of Pumpherston, West Lothian, appeared for sentence yesterday.

He earlier pleaded guilty to stealing money at The Elm Tree Inn, Bellsquarry, West Lothian, on September 24, 2010.

He was sentenced to 80 hours of community service and ordered to pay 700 compensation to the pub.

Sheriff Martin Edington said Reape was responsible for the theft of "a substantial amount of money" from his employers.
