Three-year-old hit by car

A TODDLER and her grandfather were being treated in hospital last night after they were hit by a car while petting a horse.

The three-year-old girl was injured when the car swerved to avoid another vehicle by the side of the B758, known as the Blantyre Farm Road, in South Lanarkshire.

She was in a serious but stable condition at the Southern General Hospital, after being transferred there from Wishaw General Hospital. Her 60-year-old grandfather was taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride suffering from leg injuries. His condition was also described as serious but stable.
