Top policewoman faces 'sleazy' lifestyle claims

A SENIOR police officer has been removed from operational duties amid claims about her private life.

Chief Inspector Allison Strachan, 48, the officer in charge of Corstorphine police station, is alleged to feature along with her partner, Regimental Sergeant Major Robert Penman, in explicit photographs posted on the internet.

Police chiefs feared the pictures left her open to blackmail by criminals. A source described her behaviour as "sleazy" and "reckless".

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: "We can confirm a complaint has been made and is currently being investigated. The officer has been removed from operational duties. As an inquiry is under way, it would be inappropriate to comment further."
