Valenica man kills three neighbours in stabbing rampage

THREE people were killed and at least two others injured when a man went on a stabbing rampage at his apartment building, Spanish officials said yesterday.

An Interior Ministry official said that the suspect left his upper floor apartment in the eastern city of Valencia late on Friday evening and went downstairs, knocking on doors at random throughout the building as he descended the stairs.

The occupants of one apartment opened the door to the man and the suspect knifed and killed a 50-year-old man and his 13-year-old son.

The attacker also seriously injured the man’s 48-year-old wife.

The official said that elsewhere in the building a 77-year-old woman was stabbed to death by the suspect, and a 44-year-old man was seriously injured in the attack.

The man has been arrested, but officials say that a motive for the attack has not been given.
