No excuse for Manchester disgrace
IT SHOULD now be clear to even the most resistant minds that there was no possible excuse for the disgraceful behaviour of some Scottish football fans in Manchester at Wednesday's Uefa cup final – though to associate these hooligans in any way with the sport or those who genuinely love it, including the vast majority of Rangers supporters – goes against the grain.
One particularly bizarre conspiracy theory – that those involved in the violence were actually locals from Manchester – has been given the lie now that the police have actually charged people.
