ALEX Salmond was in his element at the Glasshouse Hotel yesterday. He seemed full of the spirit of the festival spirit as he posed for an array of "colourful" pictures with various performers to promote 2009's Homecoming Scotland celebrations.
But what shows has Mr Salmond, who waxed lyrical about Edinburgh's "world-class festivals", actually managed to see? He confessed to attending just two – a performance of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and a book festival event, with the FM as the main attraction.

So he has a bit of catching up to do with Jon "two shows" Morgan, then? The Scotsman attempted to find out from the Fringe director if he had managed to squeeze any more into his schedule. At that point he made his excuses and left.

I wonder how many Scots really gie a monkey,s about the Edinburgh Festival. Any time you hear a comment by a visitor or performer its always in a foreign accent. Same with the Team GB mob the only person s I have met who watch it are both over 70...........

No. 1 - Spot on. Usual Hootsman sh*t-st*rring.

Perhaps this anonymous 'journalist' at the Glasshouse Hotel should note the wisdom of people in glass houses not whirlin chuckies.

He only goes to a couple of events - no news here.

Had he attended a dozen he would have been accused of using it as a photo-op.

Considering the state the Politicians have got this Country into, perhaps, on most days, we should be grateful for the days when a 'No News' news story gets printed, as most of the 'Real News' news stories are somewhat depressing, and many are extremely frightening - and that's those from people 'allegedly' on our side!!

Is Milliband the Foreign Sec.looking for Peace - or trouble, the odds seem to be in favour of the latter - he should Shut up, as it seems if he / we gets trouble He / We will not be able to 'put up!' He seems a very dangerous person to be in his position - especially considering the way things are now, entirely due to some other 'wild widemouth politician/s placing their personal egos before the safety of the Country!'

I wonder he will be when the first bullet is fired?!!!!!

What we have here is a first minister who's happy to wax lyrical about "world-class festivals" - fair ebnough, that's his job, yet his supportis such that out of the 000's to choose from, he has attended only 2.

One of which is his own.

Again the unionistas cling on to anything, anything they think shows the FIrst Minister in a bad light.
As usual, they succeed in only making a fool of themselves. Such purile behaviour, especially from a newspaper, will win them no new converts to the "cause".

Indeed, i can't think of a bigger turn-off to the undecided voter. keep it up morons.

Bottom feeder journalism from the Scottish edition of the Bury Free Press once again. No wonder no one has the gall to put their name to it.
This is on a par with their super exclusive scoop on Salmond going to dinner in his official car.

Give it a rest Hootsman. You're out of step and it's getting tedious,......odious, transparent, embarassing, patronising, and you're stats are still tumbling.

Has the Hootsman's H.Q. moved to Kuala Lumpar yet? Or is the JP board still inconsolably smarting from May 07
King makers?????......Aye right! More shakers than movers these days methinks.

Talking about "super exclusive swoop(s)"

Salmond endorses Thatcher's legacy - 19 years later!!

Commments?

I Take it you're referring to the article where Salmond condemns the social ramifications of Thatcherism. Hardly an endorsement is it?

20 et al

Stopped squirming yet? Ask The Leader to give you prior warning (by text?) next time.

Wonder what odds the bookies are giving for Salmond going into coalition with the Tories after the next election.

Two shows?

Looking at the horrible Thatcher endorsement it's more like 'Two Faces'.

The one that prints leaflets highlighting Brown's present to Thatcher in Glasgow East, and the one that appears today.

One word - h-y-p-o-c-r-i-t-e
