QUEEN of the South made it seven games without defeat as Martyn Lancaster's late header sealed a five-goal thriller at Dens Park last night.
Lancaster struck to severely dent Dundee's title bid after a double from the home side's Mickael Antoine-Curier had cancelled out earlier efforts from Stephen Dobbie and Barry Wilson.
Queens took the lead on the stroke of half-time when veteran
winger Wilson expertly volleyed low past Rab Douglas.
In the second half, Antoine-Curier turned Queens defender Jim Thomson inside-out before firing into the back of the net from 20 yards to equalise. However, again they were caught by a clinical breakaway by Queens with Dobbie drilling low past Douglas.
Antoine-Curier levelled for the second time on the night on 69 minutes as he sprung the offside trap to roll the ball past Queens keeper Lee Robinson.
Dobbie was denied when Douglas somehow clawed away his spectacular 25-yard effort, but Queens had the final say with defender Lancaster's looping header putting them into promotion contention.
