AFTER his side's European exertions on Thursday, Queen of the South manager Gordon Chisholm rang the changes and was rewarded with his side's first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Partick yesterday.
A Stevie Tosh penalty got the ball rolling in the 26th minute after

Marc Twaddle impeded Paul Burns' progress in the box.

Nine minutes later Stephen Dobbie capitalised on another defensive blunder before making it two.

"We might have had th
ree goals, and then we handled their pressure well," said Chisholm. "It's a bit of a relief to get the win, but I was confident it'd come."

Dunfermline manager Jim McIntyre has played down his side's promotion prospects despite a stunning 3-0 win over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. "You cannot write off St Johnstone based on that one game – they are still my favourites for the title," he said."

Dunfermline went ahead just before half-time when substitute Iain Williamson, who had come on for Kevin Harper after only seven minutes, scraped a shot home from the edge of the box and Andy Kirk's cross allowed Nicky Phinn to force the ball home 11 minutes into the second half. Striker Graham Bayne netted the third goal in the last minute with a 25-yard shot.

St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes said: "Very few teams come here and dominate the way Dunfermline did and they deserve a lot of credit for that."

Dundee manager Alex Rae was still a happy man despite his team failing to maintain their perfect start to the league as they were held to a goalless draw away to Airdrie United.

"I felt we had enough chances to win and whilst I am disappointed we did not get three points, it has still been a positive start to the season," said Rae.

Ross County got off to a flier against Clyde but the Dingwall side had only a point to show for it after a 2-2 draw.

Steven Craig volleyed County ahead after 17 minutes shortly before Scott Morrison curled in a superb 20-yard free-kick. However, Ruari MacLennan and Pat Clarke hit back for Clyde.

Livingston continued their improvement with a 2-1 win at Morton. Murray Davidson and Leigh Griffiths netted while Brian Wake got Morton's only reply.
