WALTER Smith has backed Aaron Niguez Esclapez to spice up the Rangers midfield this season.
The 19-year-old left winger was due to complete the formalities of his two-year loan deal from Valencia last night, with Smith having the option to make the move permanent.

Aaron – who has skippered Spain at Under-17, U19 and U20 levels and spent the second half of last season on loan at Greek side Iraklis – will go straight into the first-team squad at Ibrox once he completes a medical and agrees personal terms.

Smith said: "We are very pleased to have got the lad, he has a fantastic pedigree and we hope he can bring us something a little bit different."

Aaron said: "I am hungry to do well at Ibrox. I am coming to Scotland because I want success."
