FORMER Rangers manager Dick Advocaat insists Kenny Miller will be a "good" signing second time around – even though he offloaded the Scotland international seven years ago.
Advocaat brought Miller to Rangers from Hibernian in June 2000 on a five-year contract, for a fee of £2million. However, the striker moved to Wolves the following season after failing to hold down a first-team place.
After experiencing mixed fortunes at Celtic and Derby County, Miller controversially returned to Ibrox last month.
Advocaat believes the 28-year-old Miller is now a different prospect.
He said: "I signed him from Hibs when he was young but there was too much competition at the time. He is more experienced now, has done well for the national team and will be a good player for Rangers."
The former Ibrox manager also denied reports linking him with Celtic striker Derek Riordan.
Asked if he was interested in Riordan, Advocaat said: "Who? Is that the player who plays on the left-hand side? It is not true. I will be signing maybe only one or two players and they will probably be Russian."
