The highlight event of the year and the only one of its kind taking place in Scotland. An unforgettable and hugely popular display of horsemanship, skill and daring, with a colourful events programme throughout the afternoon.
MAKE IT MEDIEVAL Caerlaverock Castle, Dumfries 2, 3 August,Noon, 01387 770 244 Return to medieval times and the atmosphere of an authentic medieval castle. Visitors can undertake the challenges required to become a knight, learn how to become a royal princess and see the skills used hundreds of years ago at the merchants' camp. Knights will clash in a dramatic finale with an exciting display of swordsmanship.
GO DOUNE IN HISTORY Doune Castle, nr Stirling, 24 August, Noon, 01786 841 742The fortress will be brought to life with a medieval camp and a display of weapons and armoury. Visitors can meet the captured Redcoat soldiers, and hear their dramatic tales of escape after they were imprisoned at the castle after the Jacobite victory in 1746.
