THIRTY men conscripted to work in Britain's wartime coal mines were yesterday presented with badges to commemorate their service as
"Bevin Boys" at a ceremony in the Scottish Mining Museum at Newtongrange.

Well deserved and about time. They really did keep the home fires and furnaces burning They helped defeat Fascism their work was vital to the war effort.
