A KILLER boasted, "I'm Jocky and I've been on the telly", minutes after stabbing a disabled man to death, a court heard yesterday.
At the High Court in Glasgow, Jonathan Kean, 23, was jailed for life after he admitted murdering 48-year-old Martin Broadley by stabbing him repeatedly at James Street or Victoria Street, in Ayr, on 23 May this year.
Judge Lord Turnbull ordered Kean to serve at least 12 years before he can apply for parole.
Lord Turnbull told him: "You have pleaded guilty to a despicable act of violence perpetrated on an innocent and vulnerable man who was a complete stranger to you and for no apparent reason."
The court heard that, as Kean ran away after stabbing his victim four times, he shouted to a group of youths, "I'm Jocky, I've been on the telly. I've just murdered some guy."
Kean, of Ayr, featured on a BBC TV documentary entitled the Boys Behind Bars, which was filmed at Polmont while he was detained there.
The court was told that as he fled the scene, the accused admitted the murder to at least three groups of people he met.
