LABOUR campaign manager David Cairns has dismissed claims by the SNP that it had attracted 1,000 activists over the weekend.
However, an SNP spokeswoman claimed that Labour is finding it "too hard to understand how popular the SNP are compared to Gordon Brown".

Must be a busy night at the Hootsman, they cant keep up with all the Labour spin and have chosen to print only the first two paragraphs of the Labour press release. Is someone on a job action?

I guess I should note the time of this post to see how long it lasts as well.

I am not suprised.

Travelling within Scotland is relativly cheap and easy and the SNP are popular with a huge amount of actual members.

I still expect the SNP to run this one bloody close but with SLAB to hang-on by their bleeding fingernails. However allow me for 1 second to speculate that victory is indeed a decent possibility. I'll be staying up with the champagne on ice in the event of a win.

What would be the highlight ? Well, many of us can think back to the 1997 election night (christ I was still voting Labour in those days). Two words. Michael Portillo.

This week ... and in years to come ... I would like to be able to say "were you still up for David Cairns ?"... :-))

The story in the Sunday Times exposing the shambles of the Labour campaign shows that Cairns, like many Scottish Labour MP's, is a total incompetent.

Not the best time for the government to announce changes in the benefits system methinks.

What the hell is going on at the Scotsman - two threads have been wiped out by a poster called David Banks. If there is an "Administrator" out there get your finger (or should that be a red pencil) out.

Well the labour parties commitment to democracy and free debate is now fully exposed. Times correspondents campaigning for labour, BBC coverups, and even blogs have to be sabotaged. What next? Will we soon find the real reason for the urgency of 41 day detention without trial?

Tripod, that's the most sensible comment a unionist has come up with in ages!

As for the article, Mr Cairns wouldn't even be commenting on SNP numbers provided that his team had sufficant troups to do their job, proof that they are very worried indeed by SNP numbers, but even more of what they are acheiving.

A nutter named David Banks multiple-pasted garbage from #14-1000. Immature.
