DEMAND for Scottish food has increased in a "seismic" shift over the past year, a minister said yesterday.
One leading supermarket saw sales of Scottish produce increase by 20 per cent in Scotland and 14 per cent in the rest of the UK, rural affairs secretary Richard Lochhead told the Scottish Food Fortnight industry showcase at Glamis Castle, Angus.

The English owned, Labour donating supermercats are even hedging their bets by flying Saltires. Can't be any Peerages left.

There is still not enough Scottish food in supermarkets selling in Scotland.

Went to the Borders last week. The produce was excellent; I can't find handbaked bread, like the one I found in Duns, anywhere in Edinburgh. And the local cheese - Cuddy's Cave - is to die for. I am going back next week for some more.

In Kelso, was delighted to see all the cuts of meat traditionally used by my mum. Stuff you don't see in supermarkets - and the beef the colour of beef, not that peely wally stuff on sale in Sainsbugs.

If the supers sell more Scottish produce, people will buy it. Why should this be a surprise?

Am awa doon to Monikie fur a Forfar Bridie supper ( No fur sale in the supermarket) an a Tunnock’s caramel wafer.
