A YOUNG man was in a serious condition in hospital last night after a stolen car crashed into a wall.
The Toyota Celica was being followed by a police car when the accident happened in Greenock at about 4:10am on Saturday.

The 23-year-old was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock and transferred to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, where his condition was described as "serious".

The vehicle had been stolen a short time earlier from the Gourock area.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist died in a crash on the A90 near Dalmeny yesterday. The 38-year-old man lost control of his Harley Davidson on a bend just before the M9 underpass about 8:30am, police said.
