THE Scotsman's nationhood tour continues today as our reporters arrive in Cumbernauld. The controversial new town in North Lanarkshire has won numerous awards - most often for being the ugliest town centre in Scotland - but what do its residents think about living there?
Reporters Craig Brown and Claire Smith will ask locals what they like and dislike about the town, and what Scotland means to them in 2007, near Lloyds TSB in the Cumbernauld Centre from 11:30am to 2:30pm.
The tour continues on Friday, with The Scotsman van in Biggar. Next Monday it makes its last stop in Peebles.
Next week also sees the culmination of the set-piece nationhood debates to mark the Union's 300th anniversary. On 13 March, the penultimate debate is held at the Volunteer Hall in Galashiels at 7:15pm, with the party leaders' debate at Our Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh ending the series on Thursday, 15 March.
