THE leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats has written to the First Minister claiming he has failed to provide information about climate change requested three months ago.
Tavish Scott, in a letter to Alex Salmond, reminds him that during First Minister's Questions on 19 March he asked for some information, which he said has still not been delivered.

Mr Scott said he wanted to be told how much of the government's fi
nancial stimuli had been committed to tackling environmental issues and climate change in Scotland.

"Unfortunately, nearly three months on, your government has still not yet published these figures," he said in the letter, seen by The Scotsman.

He added: "In the interest of passing scientifically credible and knowledgeable law, it is very important the Scottish Government acts, when requested, to assist (MSPs] with information.

"Sadly, in respect to the issue of climate change, I do not think this has been the case."

He said Mr Salmond had shown a "blatant disregard to the relationship of accountability that should exist between the parliament and the government".

He added this information was crucial to help ministers form views when considering the Climate Change (Scotland) Bill, due for final discussion on Wednesday.

Mr Scott made another plea in the letter for the First Minister to provide the information in time for Wednesday's debate and vote.

"If we as a country are to act, then Members of the Scottish Parliament should be able to consider all of the information available before making their historic decisions," he said.

"Hopefully you will agree that this is an opportunity we can ill afford to squander and will guarantee to publish the figures you promised on 19th March."

I wonder if Tavish will volunteer to pay back the profit he will make from his taxpayer funded property portfolio ?
That money could be used to plant trees.

OIL AND GAS: £20BILLION SHORTFALL

Marvellous what you can do with numbers. Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc can be transformed from desert economies (i.e. have to build a modern civilisation from scratch....goats the main resource)but Scotland, above all other countries in the world discovers Oil and gas and yet somehow or other would not have enough to live on for most of the years Oil has been flowing!

Many words spring to mind, none of them printable.

The sooner the Independence debate gets going so we can nail this sh*te into the ground the better. This is absolutely lunacy.

No, worse, it's downright LIES!!!

I comment here because we are not allowed to challenge this 'filth' in the original article.

Tavish Scott - Supporter and Contributor to the Calman Commission Report - That suggest rebuild Scotland's nuclear plants when World's uranium is unlikely to last 30 years. "Good One Tavish"

The problem with publishing a report is the Unionist intend slashing Scotland's budget from £30 Billion to £24.5 Billion whilst pumping another £2.6 Billion out the North Sea for themselves!

<< Why Scotland Does Not Need Nuclear Energy >>

http://www.oilofscotland.org/scotlands_future.html#stream_turbines

Scotland has the potential to create green energy from the 600 suitable streams that it has. A generator in a single high fall stream could generate 900 kw at day which is enough to provide electricity for 500 homes.

If all the streams in Scotland were converted that would be enough power for 300,000 homes a day, which is about 54% of Scotland's electricy requirements.

Why does Tavish not do something useful like help expose the fact that Davenport is set to close and all the Leaking Trident Missiles are going to be based at Faslane.

Tavish, the solution is simply support and vote for SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE and a budget of in excess of £45 Billion not the Unionist's slap in the face reduced £24.5 Billion budget.

Tavish, take a step away from your English masters, for in an Independent Scotland there is a place for a party with 99% identical policies as the SNP.

Remember

"It costs the 60 million population of the UK £40 Million a Day to be in European Union". £234 a head

"It costs the 5 million population of SCOTLAND £32 Million a Day to be in the UK Union" £2300 a head

The figures do not lie - for the truth visit

Christ, it must be hectic at Holyrood since our MSPs are in the frontline to 'save the planet'. We have some of the worst health statistics in the developed world and this pri*ck is worried about the sky falling down.

even if it was explained to the liberal democrats in baby language they still would find it hard to understand,
when you listen to them and ,for that matter ,the labour mob,it would appear that there is not one brain in working order between them,
no wonder this country is in such an alarming state when that pile of plonkers are around,
I did not think for one moment that any thing could be as stupid as labour ,but I was wrong, for liberals have shown that they are even thicker
Auld baw-heided eejit Broonie and the liberals are well matched.

Talking about climate chnage and saving the planet helps make folk like Tavish Scott feel more important. But they should realise they are building on foundations of sand. Their edifices will collapse as the murmurings of truth undermine them. But do we have time? It took 2 or 3 generations for the people in Russia to get rid of their socialist overlords.

I'd rather hope that my offspring will not have to endure the new oppression of the left which is emerging under the guise of concern over climate. Arguing from truth is not effective against lefties since their minds are already made up or rather soaked in ideology, but it can reduce the public support for them. There lies the hope.

You would do better to hope that your offspring can avoid suffering the consequences visited on them by blinkered ideologues such as yourself.
