Recaptured: In Greenock, Christmas 2007

Absconded: Walked out of jail on Boxing Day 2004
Recaptured: Spent two years on the run before he was found in England using a false name

Recaptured: At farm near Glasgow after siege in June

• SIMON LISTER

Sentenced to seven years in 2004 for assaults and robberies on pensioners

Recaptured: Within days

• ROBERT NAPIER

Jailed for five years for assault and robbery.
Absconded: May 2009 while on a week's leave
Recaptured: Within a day

You are eventually going to have to terminate a lot of lawless individuals who are incapable of joining a civilised society. At my age I am willing to carry out the sentence, but only if the individuals concerned are willing to accept it. It is a strange world for those outside of the norm.
