Saltires bowler Ross Lyons last night marked his big-time debut Down Under in style.
The Clydesdale left-arm spinner claimed 2-29 from nine overs to restrict North Sydney to 210, although his own side, the University of New South Wales, slumped to 74-5 in response by the close.

Meanwhile, Paul Hoffmann reckons Scotland should only be allowed to field two players born outwith the country.

The Australian bowler, one of Scotland's most successful imports ever, said: "Youngsters dream of representing their country but if they see half a team of hired pros in the World Cup, what signal does that send?"
