THE Scottish Saltires have been handed a boost after landing Warwickshire batsman Navdeep Poonia on loan for next week's Friends Provident Trophy double header.
The big-hitting Glasgow-born player will replace captain Ryan Watson, who is unavailable for the matches away to Derbyshire on Sunday and Lancashire 24 hours later due to the imminent birth of his first child.

Majid Haq has also been ruled out as he prepares for his final exams. Craig Wright returns to the 13-man squad, while Fraser Watts will captain the team for the first time in Watson's absence.

Scotland squad: F Watts (captain), R Berrington, D Nel, C Wright, J Blain, E Cowan, G Drummond, G Goudie, G Hamilton, N McCallum, N Poonia, G Rogers, C Smith (wicket-keeper).
