SIR Sean Connery has been appointed Scotland's Commonwealth Games ambassador to help Glasgow land the 2014 event.
Despite being a native of Edinburgh, the James Bond star has agreed to use his fame to back Glasgow's £5 million bid.

Next week, Sir Sean will meet Louise Martin, chairwoman of the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland, to discuss how he can contribute to the effort.

He will be asked to contact delegates from the Commonwealth countries who will decide the winner and appear in a video presentation.

He's not from Glasgow, he doesn't live in Scotland and he has accepted a knighthood from a kingdom he has gone on record as wanting to disband.
Good choice.

OH WOW........Is Sir Connery the only person that DOES'NT live in their own country of birth.........I don't think so! Sir Connery has done alot for Scotland even thou he does'nt live there and he is still respected and loved by lots of folks that do live in Scotland.....even the Parliament. It was a very good choice. :)
