HEARTS captain Christophe Berra is hoping a sell-out away end can help spur his side on to victory in the first Edinburgh derby of the season on Sunday.
The Tynecastle outfit are expecting to take a capacity travelling support to Easter Road for the clash, with only 150 of their 3,800 tickets remaining yesterday.

Csaba Laszlo's team will head across the capital on the back of only one win in their last four outings, while their hosts have won three of their last four. However, Berra – fresh from sitting on the bench for Scotland in the 0-0 draw with Norway believes the size of the Gorgie side's backing could make all the difference against Hibs.

He said: "It is a massive game for us and I am really delighted that it looks like we'll have a sell-out in the away end. It's the first derby of the season and I am sure it will be a close and exciting encounter.

"But it can make all the difference to see the away end packed and giving the lads great support. We've got to go in totally united against Hibs and I know we'll do that with everyone's backing."

For the record, I am not over confident, learnt that lesson very young, but believe at home and if we play three strikers we will be too strong for your lot. We will see on Sunday.

There is something very special about a full house at either ER or Tynie for a Derby game. For those of you going, enjoy yourselves. Having been a season ticket holder at the Leith San Siro for 16 years until i came over here in 2000, I know only too well the joy of a win and the pain of defeat at both grounds.
I was at every one of the 22 you didn't lose and that was all forgotten (by me anyway) as soon as Gordon Hunter scored the winner to end your run.
Hearts have enjoyed the upper hand in my life time to the extent that the Derby tally was close when i was a child and is now anything but that...

That goes out the window on Sunday though Gents, as history counts for nothing in a game that is the oldest and proudest of Scottish grudge matches...

Because of all that, there is no way on Heaven, Earth or the other place i will be making a prediction for Sunday's game. I'll leave that to the more cerebrally challenged of the posters on here, from both sides...

I'll be here on Monday to take it or give it though...

After all that's a far better yardstick of a real fan than all that passes for banter in the run up to the game on this site anyway...

It has nothing to do with past records. They do not win games. It all depends on the day. It will be close I think. Laszlio has to make changes you can't play defensive and rely on one goal, especially if weaknesses in defence. Glen must come in side. Maybe even Rapnik. If we lose, we lose, but at least blood some more youngsters. You can talk about bragging rights but is only 3 points. Better one defeat and ten victories then one victory and ten losses.

Just loving the over confident noises coming from the Hobos just now!! Methinks a little faces and eggs may be about to come together... Yet Again!

I am pretty sure it will be a tight game and think it will have draw written all over it unless someone gets sent off and then the other team wins it with a set-piece.

I just cannot understand the hibs fans though... You would think that after years of giving it the Charlie big-bananas nonsense and then being made to look stupid that they would have learned to keep it a bit more in check before a derby7 but no... De ja vu, they never learn and seem content to heap more preasure on themselves all over again.

Pretty much a cert for Rordan and Stewart to score and I for one can't wait just now.

It's funny actually, at about this time in the week i am always excited about the derby, right up until the actuall day when from the moment I wake up until kick off, I am a nervous wreck... This is not to say i am scared of anything that Hibs have at their disposal, no it was like this even at 3-0 at Hampden... i am just a mess of aprehension and nerves for any derby and this one will be no different.

Has to be two men up front for me with Nade and Tullberg or we will be in for a tough afternoon... This game is set up for Glen to score from the bench but Csaba seems reluctant to risk him.

We are definitely short of a man in midfield. Karapidis has done reasonably well as a defender playing in midfield and would be ok as a stop gap. However he plays to many defensive passes. Bruno and Reuben can do as good a job defensively and be more attack minded with their passing. It doesn't matter how many name you put on your teams sheet who are strikers, so Hibs can play three up front. It is about getting the ball into the box and I believe we have players Who can take in box chances if played

Anglojambo, Thomson will make way for Jonsson now that he's served his one game suspension.

For the record, I think it should be a close game, but based on Hearts last few performances I think we'll struggle.

.......Unless Csaba goes with 2 up front. I'd like to see Tullberg & Nade start, both should be fit now and if one tyres sooner than the other we can bring on the headless chicken that is Jamie Mole!

#7 If you play 3 up front then you'll get over-run in midfield, simple as that. You can't score goals if haven't got the ball. Close game - probably got yet another draw written all over it but with our record at ER you just never know.

Wow, a bit of a Jambo attack here. I think I better have a wash!!! (That was a joke, you all seem a tad touchy just now.)

I was NOT only referring to this story, nore to the many many comments I have read over the last cpl of days. And I recall many Jambos saying they will win. No problem with that, thats normal, I just dont see how Hibs are supposed to be over-confident, when there is a handfull of (probably younger) Hibees predicting wins.
