HIBERNIAN, Kilmarnock and Falkirk are all believed to be interested in signing English striker Steve Lovell.
Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies hopes to sign as many as three strikers after latest recruit Allan Russell suffered a knee injury at the weekend. Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen and Falkirk's John Hughes are also believed to be monitoring the situation.

"We hope to bring in a couple of strikers due to Allan's injury and one we were looking for before that anyway," Jefferies told BBC Sport.

Lovell signed for Aberdeen from Dundee for £250,000 in July 2005 but was released by the Dons in the summer.

Russell, 27, faces up to eight weeks on the sidelines after rupturing medial ligaments.

Falkirk manager John Hughes has confirmed the return of midfielder Arnau Riera on a season-long loan despite a pre-season injury scare.

The 26-year-old former Barcelona B captain has signed on loan again from Sunderland after a similar deal with the SPL outfit last term.

"We were the REAL champions" - The SPL Trophy will confirm otherwise! What is this clown on? Did he manage to start and finish 90 minutes of a game? He disputed every offside decision given against him and took every opportunity to go down easily without punishment.
It's a good job Gordon Ramsay didn't put pie on the menu last week at Murray Park or "Desperate Dan" Darchville would have "ate them all".
"no one had the strength to lift the trophy! Too many players were simply too tired". Did the Scottish Cup do the lap of honour on a trolley?

#3, your comments have precisely nothing whatsoever to do with this article. Please leave all of the decent fitba fans alone wth your manky Weedgie garbage. There is a reason that you cannot post your unadulterated snash on the stories of either your teams threads. That reason is plain for all exept the suporters of both of Scotlands shame teams to see.

You cannot or will not speak to each other in a reasonable and respectfull way. For that alone you are most definitely not welcome on threads that bear no witness to your views.

You are however most welcome, like a few of your counterparts, (G'Day OF, BTO) to comment upon the article above...

WHich I will,
If we cannot sign a player above the likes of Falkirk and Kilmarnock then Mixu and Petrie, but especially Petrie needs to have a long hard look at what is becoming of our club. We have better facilities and a bioger support than either of the other two clubs in the chase and if we dont get the players we want or another SPL team outwith the OF signs them it is at their doors that the blame lies...

Anyway, I'm still hopeful that good players will be arriving at ER shortly...

#4. Pots and kettles?! Criticising someone else for making a post that has nothing to do with the article is a bit rich from the idiot whose user name is nothing to do with his/her own club!

Falkirk and Kilmarnock are more likely to pay higher wages than the hobos, therefore Lovell will not be going to fester road.

And what pray tell, my simple minded minion of drivel has my user name got to do with anything???

You know full well I don't care about you going on, and on, and on and on and on and on and on about it, cos everyone that has posted for more than a day or two on this site knows the story behind it and i cant be erchied to change it...

It is all too blatantly obvious to anyone reading these threads regularily which one of us is more likely to be an idiot so I'll just let you prove your shortcomings for yourself...

You complete Banjo!

#7 I understand your frustration. I suppose your thinking back to that boy Hughes that went to Motherwell rather than Hearts. It does seem that both Edinburgh teams now have great difficulty in attracting any quality.

It does make you think about whether our teams really want to compete anymore. As a Hibs supporter it's extra painfully to see that we are competing with teams that shouldn't even stand a chance against the resources we have. The supporters have been doing their bit for many years, it's now the clubs turn repay that commitment.

10. Shows that Jonathan Johanson is probably not coming. If we sell Benji and replace him with Lovell there will be more fan unrest.

#10 & #11

This guy Lovell was a decent prospect when he was with Dundee but he is even more injury prone than Killen. Why would Hibs want to sign somebody that will spend all his time injured. In any case, he has done very little at Aberdeen and hopefully this is just newspaper talk as Hibernian need better than him.

Yeah but if you sign him, they could maybe get his girlfriend to play a fundraising concert
