HIBERNIAN defender Chris Hogg is making swift progress as he recuperates from an eyesight problem, and is in contention for a place in Sunday's Edinburgh derby against Hearts at Easter Road.
Hogg complained of blurred vision and headaches after he was involved in a collision during Hibs' CIS Cup exit to Morton last month. The Englishman continued to play on before being advised by medical staff to rest for ten days in a bid to recover. Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen said: "Chris has rested for ten days so he should be okay, but we'll speak with the medical staff before he starts training again. If he needs another couple of days then that's what we'll do.

"It's sometimes good to have a break like that, you return fresh and ready to go. I don't think that time off will have taken anything away from Chris's fitness."

Meanwhile, Eddie Smith, the referee accused by St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson of winking at him after awarding Celtic a controversial penalty on the opening weekend of the season, will take charge of Sunday's match.

I hope he's fit for the game too.

Is Lord Nelson playing?

God bless Sir Wallace.

The return of Hogg is neither here nor there, this game will be won and lost in Midfield as far as Hibs are concerned. Hearts dont have a decent striker, they do have a decent midfield. If we win the battle there we could give well and truly pull their pants down. if we dont it may well be back to the title f the most boring game on earth for the Embra derby...

Will the Hogg-meister have enough Hamlets to see him out for the full game...?

Will Riordan score three?

Will Yams have a team?
