KILMARNOCK goalkeeper Alan Combe has not ruled out extending his contract at Rugby Park.
The former Dundee United player, 34, will be available on a Bosman at the end of the season and has reportedly attracted the attention of Hearts and boyhood heroes Hibernian.

Combe showed his value to the Ayrshire side during Monday night's Clyde
sdale Bank Premier League win over Motherwell at Fir Park with a couple of crucial saves between Manuel Pascali's first-half opener and Allan Russell's late clincher.

Manager Jim Jefferies praised Combe afterwards and reiterated his desire for him to stay at a club where he is "appreciated as No 1 keeper".

Combe, who has been offered a new three-year-deal by Kilmarnock, said: "I am still in negotiations with the club. It's not about being greedy, it's about doing what is right at this stage of my career. It's the first time I've been involved in this sort of thing.

"I've usually got my contract sorted out before the Bosman situation comes in to play but hopefully something gets sorted out."

Combe praised the contribution of Pascali on Monday night, who, aside from his goal from Gavin Skelton's corner, had a fine game playing in defence for the first time due to injuries in the squad.

"Manuel got caught out a couple of times in the first 10 minutes and he admitted that but you can't hold it against him," Combe said.

"It was his first time in that position so it was just a case of talking to him and getting thing organised.

"After that, Manuel and Frazer Wright had a fantastic game together and I think they lost only one header between them for the rest of the match.

"We didn't make a lot of chances but what we did was fight for our victory which was very pleasing.

"Motherwell are a good football side and we knew how difficult it would be."

Motherwell boss Mark McGhee insisted he was not feeling the strain, despite seeing his side slip to second bottom of the table.

"I don't feel any pressure," he told official website, www.motherwellfc.co.uk.

"If it is expected of us that we are going to be in the top three every season then clearly we have to do something about it soon.

"But I see it that we are out to do the best we can and see where it takes us. Just now, the best we can do is that performance, but we will need to get better."
