HIBERNIAN striker Colin Nish insists beating Celtic will mean nothing if victory over Hamilton does not follow this weekend.
Nish netted Hibs' second goal in Sunday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League win over the champions, which ended the visitors' 12-match winning run.

Having beaten the leaders, the Easter Road side now take on rock-bottom Accies and Nish is keen to con
tinue momentum: "It was definitely a massive result for us on Sunday and means we have a four-game undefeated run now, taking eight points from our last 12, so things are looking good just at present.

"We look to take it on to next week as there is just no point in beating Celtic if we are not going to take it forward against Hamilton."

Nish had to make do with a place on the bench for the three matches prior to Sunday, earning a recall after netting the equaliser at Falkirk in the previous game with Derek Riordan dropping out of the side.

He hopes back-to-back goals will help keep him in the team in the knowledge there is fierce competition for places among the forwards at Hibs.

He said: "It has been frustrating to have been on the bench in recent weeks and the only way to ensure that you are not back there the next week is to contribute significantly when you do get on.

"Luckily, I did that last weekend against Falkirk and earned my place in the side. I was delighted to start against Celtic and to score again. Hopefully my performance will keep me in the team for a wee bit longer."

Nish has probably earned a starting place.

Hopefully we can score early and get a couple of goals in the first half. Then we can put "Wee Ned" on and keep everyone happy.

Hamilton will make it very hard for us, especially after last week. They will be very defensive and try to hit on the break.

Perhaps they'll use our last game as a training video.

I have been feeling a little sorry for Colin Nish of late. He really hasn't done anything wrong, yet he gets slated as gash by a good few amongst the Hibs support. He's scored as many as Fletcher which puts him 4th in SPL. I think he needs a run with Fletch and Riordan playing the Dalglish to his Rush, for want of a slghtly more apt reference point.

Oh for all the simpltons who will jump on that like half price watlzers at the shows, I am not comparing Scotlands greatest ever player to either Fletcher or Riordan nor am i comparing Nish to the big Welshman...

Aye Nish has done his chances no harm at all.
If he / Fletch can score early and we are in the ascendency (spelling?) then bring on Ratty.
Hamilton will defend resolutely I'd think and try to catch us on the counter.

We handled Celtic's counter attacks okay I think, and if we have the same focus and determination we will handle it.

But of course, we do play hot and cold.

There are quite a few half-wits who call themselves Hibs supporters on these threads.

They are readily identifiable through their use of the following phrases:

"He should never wear a Hibs jersey again". "He should be out the door". "Cheerio O'Brien. Close the door behind you" "He's absolute rubbish. Benji should never come back" "Beuzelin has never played for Hibs for two years now. Best get rid" "Jones has gone walkabout again" These and many other deeply insightful remarks place the contributors right at the back of the queue when brains were being handed out.

The two things that they all have in common, and I make no judgement on either:

They all have the mentality of an eight year old.

They all love Chris Hogg.
