TIGER Woods lost his temper as well as his seven-event winning streak at the Doral on Easter Monday as it emerged he indulged in a swearing outburst at an over-keen photographer.
Woods' every move is followed by a plethora of snappers and one in particular attracted the ire of the world No 1 during the final round of the CA Championship, in which he finished two shots behind winner Geoff Ogilvy of Australia. Woods struggle
d all weekend on the greens and after another lip-out at the ninth he let rip. "The next time a photographer shoots a f****** picture on my backswing I'm going to break his f****** neck," fumed the American.

Another man left frustrated was England's Graeme Storm after he failed to launch a credible push for the title in Miami. Storm still finished top European, tied for sixth behind Ogilvy, but he was hoping for even better.

"I was disappointed with the way I played the back nine," said the 30-year-old from Hartlepool, who had to complete the final nine holes at Doral's Blue Monster on Monday following Sunday's weather delay. "I was just so nervous and jumpy. I was fine during the night, but when I got back out there, I don't know what happened."

Storm, playing in the final group with Ogilvy and runner-up Vijay Singh, was in a position he had not previously experienced at this level.

He hit a couple of bad shots and made a bogey, before battling on to finishing four shots behind Ogilvy.

Whilst not condoning the use of bad language, I find that quite, almost human, of the great one.
Had I missed a putt on sunday during the exercise of which some pratt with one of those huge Hassleblads or whatever, was wheek, wheek, wheeking away in the background, I dare say I would have come out with some profanity or other. And that's without the tight rules on camera use on the course which, generally, don't apply on the Links of Sunny Leith and surrounds.
There is, of course, the "setting an example to the young ones" part of it, which, similarly, may not actually apply on the Links of Sunny Leith either, depending on the nature of the youth in question.
Indeed, there are those in that quarter who advocate that it may very well be the best policy to "break their f****** knecks".
That said, it is debatable as to how many of the local youth are walking about with the latest state of the art Hassleblad, and if they are, how they came to be in possession of one.

Mackie, do you work for Hassleblad or are you angling for aa freebie? I think that only works if you are famous.

Could I also mention how smart the Austin Martin DB9 is? There really seems to be finer example of a modern day sportscar than the Austin Martin DB9 in my opinion.

He shold be fined for using offensive language. But of course the USGA are so far up his ar@# that they will not fine him. Sure the photographers are a pain and need to learn more control, and the culprti should be punished as well.

I was listening to the golf on XM radio on Monday for the close of the final round and heard the great one use more bad language. Fine him!!! He is going to be the greatest ever but I have never heard Player, Trevino, Watson, Nicklaus, Palmer or any other great ones EVER use bad langauge on the course, they set a much better example of control than he EVER has. Never throwing clubs or beating them on the ground, they were an example to this great game of the conduct that should be used, sadly Tiger isn't. I would also like him to stop spitting as well, it is not nice to see him gobbing all over the golf course, never happen in the golden days of this game. There is no need for it!!

I sound like a grumpy old man - but he needs to clean his act up.

While Player and Palmer may well have avoided the F word, they have both been accused of cheating within the PRO ranks.

Player twice by Tom Watson (17th hole 1974 and a later Skins game?).

Palmer once by Ken Venturi (1958 Masters).

I agree however that Woods tantrums are unneccessary and I particularly hate the gobbing, a habit shared with Furyk, Weekley and others.

I would never usually condone the use of bad language but on this occasion, well done Tiger. Press photographers in particular you could describe as
parasites intruding into people's lives.

Someone on another site said " I suppose you are the kind of old moaner who has a problem with great sportsmen like Woods and Hamilton". The answer of course is yes because while both of them are terrific exponents of their chosen sport neither of them are sportsmen.
I have never liked Woods since he whinged about Carnoustie in 1999 saying no one wants to see Pros shoot high scores. Yes we do Tiger if they are also one dimensional brats.
