Gulliford takes up Standard Life role

SIMON Gulliford, the former marketing director of Barclays, is to become Standard Life's first chief marketing officer.
Gulliford, who left Barclays in 2004 to work as a marketing consultant, is to work three days a week at the Edinburgh financial giant. He will remain a consultant and non-executive director for companies such as FST Technologies, a specialist financial services technology agency. While at Barclays, he was responsible for introducing the "Fluent in finance" strapline for the bank.

Standard Life has also promoted Peter Joshi as marketing director for the UK financial services business from his previous role as managing director of marketing.
