MORE than 60 of Scotland's top tourist sites will open free of charge on St Andrew's Day, it emerged yesterday.
They range from Edinburgh Castle to remote sites such as Arnol Black House, Lewis.

The move is part of the Scottish Government's efforts to transform 30 November into a broad celebration of the country's history and culture.

Alex Salmond, the First Minister, has already unveiled a series of events across the country.

Interesting............St. Andrew's Day...........history and culture.

Many countries and peoples take pride in THEIR OWN history and culture.

I take pride in my Scottish great-grandfather, eight back. And I take pride in my American Indian heritage, also. My great-grandfather Bruce came to the US, and married a full-blooded Cherokee Indian.

I believe I know where some priceless pieces of history and culture are buried here in the US, that my great-grandfather brought with him on the boat from Scotland. I WANT THE ITEMS RETURNED TO THE COUNTRIES FROM WHICH THEY CAME, RESPECTIVELY.....................AND RESPECTFULLY.

They might have at least made it free for the whole weekend - not that many people who work will take time off to visit a tourist attraction just because it is free!
