ST MIRREN have completed the signing of Lee Mair after the central defender left Aberdeen.
Mair is Saints' first signing of the close season after putting pen to paper on a two-year-deal.
The 28-year-old began his career with Dundee, before spells with Stockport County and Dundee United. Jimmy Calderwood took the player to Pittodrie in the summer of 2007 and he made 53 appearances for the club. But Mair, like captain Scott Severin and winger Jamie Smith is out of contract this summer and so was free to speak to other clubs. "Everyone at Pittodrie wishes Lee all the best for the future," said a statement from Aberdeen, who are still searching for a new manager to replace Calderwood.
Meanwhile, the Dons could be without Sone Aluko for two months of next season because of his international commitments. The 20-year-old, who made his debut for Nigeria last week, is likely to be selected for the Super Eagles squad to compete at the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt in September.
