CONCERNS were raised over the health of Sir Sean Connery yesterday after the 76-year-old screen veteran failed to attend a major fashion event in New York on Monday night at which he was due to be the guest of honour.
Organisers of the Dressed to Kilt fashion show said the star had cancelled his appearance to undergo unspecified health tests.

However, a spokesman for Sir Sean said he was expected to be at a gala function due to go ahead last night, and was in "top form".

Last year, Sir Sean had a benign tumour removed from his kidney.

On Monday, the actor was due to host an exclusive charity dinner for 30 people in aid of Friends of Scotland, the organisation behind the fashion show.

A spokesman for Sir Sean said: "He had a scheduling conflict unrelated to a routine check-up he underwent earlier this week. He is in good form and will attend a gala event on Tuesday."

Hope it's nothing too serious Sean.

Dr Blockbuster says it was probably the lack of home bred haggis and neeps that caused Sir Sean Connery not to appear. Nothing a good dose of Irn-bru (diet) wouldn't fix ... nor Dom Perignon 1998 for that matter!

Dr Blockbuster will check that everything under the Ancient Farquharson is in perfect working order, and will attend too next year.
