AN ANIMAL rights group's campaign against the French delicacy foie gras has won the backing of the Prince of Wales.
Joyce Moss, an activist with Vegetarians International Voice for Animals (Viva), wrote to him after she saw foie gras on sale at House of Cheese, in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, which is "by appointment" to the prince.

His officials replied saying Prince Charles did not use foie gras in his residences and that the House of Cheese's policy would be addressed when its royal warrant is reviewed.

Viva says the sale of foie gras – a paté made from the liver of a specially fattened duck or a goose – endorses animal cruelty.

Me neither - dunno if it was foie gras but that stuff I bought from the local deli gave me the skitters - I wonder if that's why the Prince doesn't use it in his residences. Tell the Prince that shrimp paste is nice on toast - or avocado if you wanta be totally pc.

He may not use foie gras in his residences, but it doesn't stop him participating in blood sports. Not that the flap eared parasite is a hypocrite or anything.

Your unrelenting anti-monarchism is becoming tiresome.

Foie gras is a delicacy I have tasted but rarely but have relented in consuming it because of the cruel way it is manufactured and its exorbitant cost at restaurants here in Canada.

The Prince of Wales is way ahead of his time and will be one of the most intelligent and innovative kings that Great Britain will ever have - rivalling Charles II and George III.

So much for a non-political monarchy.

Foie Gras is a wonderful food and we should not give any more ground to the veggie facists.

Bloody hell! Not content with banging on about snares, they are now moaning about a bit of duck liver pate. Whatever next?

The Prince of Wales should be ashamed of himself for giving a group of nutters credibility.

For a moment I got slightly confused between the House of Windsor and House of Cheese. Oh maybe not. It is a load of quiche!

I tasted foie gras a long time ago in France and was threatening to be violently seik. (OK, maybe it was the wine on an unaccustomed young tummy.) Black pudden for me is the dog's boll*cks. Yum. (The ga-ga censors at The Scotsman don't allow me or anyone to say dog's b*ll*cks although the idiot in charge apparently does not know that it is a valid entry in the latest Oxford English Dictionary.) Pathetic. The Scotsman newspaper is a lost cause, I fear, in 21st-century Scotbritland.

Good move...hopefully more people will realise that the fabrication of this product involves barbaric cruelty and it is actually diseased liver that people are eating...the female chicks are no use and are minced alive to be made into animal feed...the male birds are force fed..have ruptured throats..get blood poisening..are attacked by rats..and if they do not die because of this then their livers burst and they die in agony....as any living creature would, with a ruptured liver....the pain must be horrendous...

Doreen,

Where exactly do you get your ideas from?

People eat diseased liver. Yeah. Right.

If you think The Scotsman is a "lost cause" the solution is quite simple: stop reading it and then we won't have to read your vacuous postings.

I think even you can understand the indisputable logic of my solution to YOUR problem.
