New pay-parking for capital drivers

PARKING charges for Edinburgh residents are being extended to Morningside, Merchiston and Greenhill from Monday.
The move is designed to help people find spaces near their homes. Customers will also have to pay to park near shops in the areas.

Why would I pay to shop when there are other areas I can park for nothing,the council helping the big supermarkets at the expence of small shopkeepers,unless you live in Edinburgh why would you go there,roadworks are horrendous and parking expensive.

parking is still well cheap in comparison to the huge acres of subsidised land that it takes up. Those without cars are paying for this subsidy. Once again, the non-motorist subsidising the motorist.
