Digital switchover for 7m viewers

SEVEN million viewers will take part in the biggest overnight change in UK television history today, as they welcome in the digital era.
The digital switchover begins in the Granada TV region in the early hours when analogue BBC2 is turned off. The remaining analogue channels of BBC1, ITV1, Channel 4 and Five will be permanently switched off on 2 December.
