Man charged over bus murder

A MAN has been charged with the murder of a 60-year-old former soldier who was attacked on a bus.
Stan Dixon, who had earlier told off a gang for swearing, suffered a serious head injury in the assault, which happened as he waited to get off a bus in Horden, near Peterlee, County Durham, on Saturday. He was taken to Newcastle General Hospital, where he died on Wednesday.
