THE former partner of Shannon Matthews's mother was yesterday convicted of downloading child pornography.
Craig Meehan, 22, was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison at Dewsbury Magistrates' Court in Yorkshire, but was released as he had spent 166 days on remand.
Meehan was found guilty of 11 counts of possessing indecent images of children. The charges detailed 49 different images of child abuse, including some featuring children as young as four.
Shannon, nine, went missing in February and was found 24 days later following one of the biggest search operations ever seen in the UK.
