Royal Mail tackles post backlog

THE backlog of mail caused by last week's postal strikes fell to five million items yesterday, as efforts continued to head off a fresh wave of walkouts planned from the end of the week.
The Royal Mail said the number of letters delayed by three days of action last week had been cut from 14 million.
