THE recession appears to have bypassed one mystery fashion lover – who is to buy the world's most expensive suit tonight.
The £70,000 one-off creation will be delivered to a private buyer at a party in London.

It has taken more than 80 hours and 5,000 stitches to make the suit, which is equivalent to £14 per stitch.

Materials used include vicuña, from a rare wild South American llama-like animal which only produces enough wool to shear every three years. Another is qiviuk, the world's dearest wool, from the Arctic muskox.

When blended with pashmina from the high plateaus of the Himalayas, the fibres create Vanquish II, one of the world's most luxurious fabrics.

Nine 18-carat gold and diamond buttons provide the finishing touch. Alexander Amosu, who designed the suit, said it was "the ultimate in luxury".

Well that is progress for the Vicuna. Previously they could not raise them in captivity and had to shoot them to shear them. Even back in the fifties it cost about thirty six quid a metre. I would not have made a suit though, overcoats were class but suits tended to wear out at the elbows and knees if you wore them too much.

Too much money for his own good.

Is having a hotel for dogs a barking idea or not to be sniffed at?
Yes, they’re only dogs, they won’t appreciate it
