IRAN'S first lady has made a rare public appearance – and, even more rare, a speech – at a Rome forum on the eve of a UN summit to fight hunger.
Azam al-Sadat Farahi, the wife of Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, attended a forum of wives of heads of state yesterday.

The summit on fighting world hunger begins today at the Rome HQ of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation.

How would you know? Have your seen or heard from Mrs. Ahmadinjad before in 5 years?
Do you the the charitable works that Laura Bush does? Do you know what, if any charitable works Mrs. Ahmadinejad does?
The only thing your comment proves, is your constant BDS and stupidity.

Ahmedinejad's wife has a really nice warm genuine low key approach whereas the ostentatious Laura Bush is propped up by the western media. Laura Bush is the devil in disguise.

She took no podium, she spoke from her seat, and sat with the wives of other heads of state.

Head Chef and other IDs you have.. did you see or hear her "speech"?
Since there is NO written texts of her remarks, I find it hard to believe YOU know what her speech was about, and what she said!!!!

Your BDS is STILL showing.

It's obvious Ahmedinejad’s wife has not contributed any good speech nor do I heard any charitable works she did before unlike Laura who has done more in her life. No doubt Laura fares a lot better than Ahmedinejad’s wife.

#1 By 'copy and paste' your ID onto the comment column, I’ve found you have a strange big letter “I” in Troll. This shows you have been banned.

#4 The genuine poster who has registered his ID as Lambchop has no wee letter “s” in his ID. This shows to prove you’re an impostor impersonating the genuine poster, creating this ID with your extra letter “s”.

Considering that Iran had protests and riots over food shortages a summer ago, plus gasoline rationing, that they had to add value tax to control commodities, let's hope she was talking about the need for Iran to invest more of it's GDP in goods and services for its population, especially food and less money spent on WMDs.

The disparagement of Laura Bush says a lot about the person who needs to cut her down and very little truth about Laura Bush.

Laura Bush works with UNESCO and the United Nations as their ambassador in fighting world illiteracy; not a small achievement or one that went unnoticed by the women everywhere

Carolyn

There was nothing in the story that she ever talked on issues concerning the GDP and for the welfare of her people. I expect she, as a woman in Iran has no power over matter like WMDs.

Ralph Wilson

There's no need for you to change topic and put your words into my mouth. Thus your question on what US and Iran have and have not is not my issue. And I am not onto whatever class Laura has or whom she married to. What I did say is that, Ahmedinejad’s wife has not contributed any good speech. The story is about Ahmedinejad’s wife.
