Doughnut woman gets her job back
AN ATTENDANT at a Canadian restaurant who was sacked for giving a bite-sized doughnut, worth 16 cents (8p), to an agitated child was given her job back yesterday.
Nicole Lilliman, 27, was dismissed from an outlet of the Tim Hortons coffee chain in London, Ontario, after video cameras captured her handing out a Timbit for free.
"It was just out of my heart, she was pointing and going 'ah, ah…' I should have gone to my purse and got the change, but it was busy," said Ms Lilliman.
Rachel Douglas, a Tim Hortons spokeswoman, said sacking the worker was a mistake by an "overzealous" manager.
