The earthquake was felt here in Chongqing as well, and immediate news reports claim four children died as a result of two primary schools having collapsed, but we're awaiting further news on that. We have a population of thirty million here, and the results could be much worse. Let's hope that no more have been killed or injured, and that property loss is minimal as well.

I felt the quake as well, and it lasted maybe thirty seconds or so, and another quake was felt about fifteen minutes later, but not nearly as strong as the first.

Sincere condolences to all the families who lost someone. Like Spook, I hope that the Chinese government deals with this catastrophe well for all concerned.

CCTV has barely covered it yet. Probably a lack of moving image, but all the same....Up to 8500 dead now.
