New Orleans levee nears final stage

THE US army corps of engineers has broken ground on one of the last major pieces of the improved levee system it is building in New Orleans.
The $1 billion (£600 million) floodgate and pump project is designed to block hurricane surges from the suburbs on the west bank of the Mississippi.

This is great new for the folks of New Orleans. They have suffered enough.
