North Korea in new missile tests

NORTH Korea test-fired four short-range missiles yesterday.
The country, which often fires short-range missiles as part of military drills and usually times the launches for periods of diplomatic friction, was hit with UN sanctions following its 25 May nuclear test. The salvo began with two surface-to-ship missiles fired off North Korea's east coast that flew about 60 miles and splashed into the sea.

Well double dog, they were actually aiming for the sky but couldn't lock in on it so gravity took over.


North Korea is not a threat, just like Iraq wasn't a threat, but hey, why let truth get in the way !

Seems to me the US just fired a missile the other day and it went over 4000 miles, now that is a threat, for it hit its target.

Hey,Postit,I think I said something along those lines back when that story hit.I do have to agree that as far as my house is concerned,no, N.K. is currently not a threat.And you should know by now my attitude about the Iraq invasion.That said,I realize that my house is not the center of the universe,and I really do believe the NK's pose a threat to peoples houses in the NK neighborhood.That includes Japan,and even possibly,and I hope not,Yours.

And in the meantime, the US is still firing missiles into a sovereign nation called Pakistan, killing all in their way, whether they be militants or innocent civilians, and no talks of sanctions or embargos imposed on the US, funny that !
The silence from the UN is deafening on that one, can't bite the hand that feeds it after all.

NK do seem to have a vast amount of missiles. The new Japanese IAEC commissioner is in a really tight spot. One can imagine that NK will triple their efforts now.

It's probably not a good idea for the IAEC chairman to be Japanese. A chairman from a neutral country should have been selected.

The missiles could just be a way to celebrate the promotion of son number three Kim Jong-Un to power so the military has something to do that will prove the next president has the attention of the world. The missile or two that are left that have more than two stages , even if they had a big enough payload , would most likely take out a pod of dolphins or blast a few fishing boats out of the Pacific. The nuclear cycle is a prestige project for any nation. The fact that South Africa had a nuke program and gave it up , was just because it was such a big drain on resource , it was not worth the price tag , with other more pressing concerns. The knowledge and the technicians can still make a nuclear program able to be started up again , but the amount of resources and hardware just are not worth the effort when the country has such a bad economy , the hardware can be easy to spot from spy cameras in orbit. The bio-weapons are much more a threat to everybody , infect a bunch of party animals on a cruise ship or some loony spliching up something nasty in a basement somewhere , even if it is a bio-error would go global right quick. The hot tamale virus could very well be a beta test of something allot worse than anything being fired out of North Korea. The anti-swine flu shots coming out this fall , I would not take anything from Merck or Squibb-world , cause you don't know what's in those things that get rushed out from some lab full of weekend party animals. I will hide out in some cave with my two yaks and wait untill all the mutants go extinct. This might have been what happened to the last of the Neanderthals:D.

How is this one: "Assimalation IS Inevitable! Resistance will just make your village very mad at their IDIOT!" Have a big arrow pointing up from the front shirt pocket! Just in case , well if your have time , send along a fax to the Quad State Economic Planning Bureau , just in case. I don't want to live under the Key Bridge and have to fish my breakfast out of the Potomac river with everybody else. Just in case. I know how to bus tables and run a hospital sized industrial dishwashing machine:D!

DPR-What's wromg with living under Key bridge?It should last a long time,now that their fixing it.Would not eat the fish,there,however. Don't eat anything pulled from the Potomac below Great Falls.Unless you happen to like Mutant 3 headed aquatic things.
