Radio heckler blamed for issuing 'Iranian' threat to US Navy

A RADIO prankster may have broadcast the threat against American ships that brought the United States and Iran close to confrontation in the Strait of Hormuz last week.
The weekly American newspaper the Navy Times quoted US officers in the Gulf as saying the message may have been broadcast by "Filipino Monkey", a notorious radio heckler in the region.

The male voice, in accented English, said: "I am coming
to you … You will explode after … minutes."

According to a soundtrack and video released by the Pentagon, the threat was made as five Iranian speedboats manoeuvred around three US warships on 6 January as they passed through the strait, a vital route for world oil shipments. Tehran said the encounter was normal and its boats were merely trying to identify the US vessels.

"Filipino Monkey" is famous in the Gulf for listening to ship-to-ship radio traffic and then jumping in with insults and epithets, said the Navy Times. US officials initially said they believed the threat came from an Iranian boat, but have since said they are not certain of its origin.

The incident, in which the navy said one ship came close to firing on an Iranian boat, drew public condemnation from George Bush, the president, and a formal US protest, further straining ties between the two countries.

Washington and Tehran are at odds over a range of issues from Tehran's nuclear programme to its support for Shiite militia in Iraq and for militant groups elsewhere in the Middle East.

"Filipino Monkey" is probably an American provocateur (CIA) trying to stir up things with the Iranians.

It's obvious that the US security services are simply making up this story to justify the brutal hostility against Iran. We should remember that Iran has existed in peace for a long time while we American Terrorists have plundered, tortured and raped the world over the last 100 years, especially since the end of WWII.

#2 & #3 - Once again showing your woeful lack of knowledge of the history in the region: The good 'ole US of A (CIA, mostly) did plunder & rape the democratically elected, Western-style gov't of Iran in 1953, replacing it with a brutal dictator, the last Pahlavi Shah. When he was finally ousted in 1978, the Iranians took our embassy over - can't imagine why. Our hands are not clean, either, and distrust has been allowed to fester, and indeed worsen, under the current President, who couldn't run a company, much less an entire country.

This information brought to you by an embarrassed Teddy Roosevelt Republican.

I know chimps are supposed to be highyly intelligent creatures but an Iranian radio hacking monkey?? Wow!! How did it know the exact moment to make the broadcast, because the timing was perfect? Perhaps it was monitoring the events on its radar or satellite surveillance system while swinging upsides down and peeling a banana!! Stop the election, Filipino Monkey for US President.

Philipino monkey is a legend. Many a boring middle watch in the NAG has been spent listening to his amusing rants.

Siggy... Philipino monkey is actually Kevin Tipps from the Brook Bond 'Pg' adverts. When work dried up back in 2002 he managed to get a job with MI6 with the 'International dis-information dept'., furthermore in 2004 he was head hunted by the CIA and landed the job of being George W's closest confidant on international security affairs. After falling out with George W. (May 2005), over the 'weapons of mass destruction' bloomer he left the employ of Uncle Sam frustrated and very critical of US actions on the world stage. His brother Virgil in a recent interview mentioned " Kevin swore that he will do his damndest to upset the US war machine"! But little did he know they were doing that job quite successfully themselves.

Philipino Monkey - we salute you!

I spent a couple of years in Haiti when I was a young teenage. My father was stationed there. I met a lot of interesting people and among them was a real live Voodoo priestess. We kept in touch until she passed away, but her daughter carries on in her place.

Who ever it was that posted #2, don't ever do that again. I'm not joking.

The first time I heard it I thought it was a joke - yet our GOP Contenders were quick to use it to bolster their readiness to obliterate Iran and as Huckabee put it - "Send them to the Gates of Hell", this without any confirmation that this was an actual threat. I have no doubt that this current Administration will attack Iran before their term is up.

The imposter is the fellah that runs a competing e-group, I believe that you know who he is.

He uses your passwords from that group to log-in as you here to irritate you so badly that you'll quit here and go over there - so that he can sell advertizing once the numbers go up.

He also uses spaces and punctuation to re-invent the names of people here that aren't on 'his' site, but he's been doing that for a while.

Everyone that uses his site needs to have a different password for 'The Scotsman' so that he can't access it in your name.

It is very difficult or even impossible for Yankees to admit mistake . Iranian national TV have released the original footages of communications between two sides which reveals great lies made by pentagon . this time it is very normal for pentagon to make another lie :
”” the message may have been broadcast by "Filipino Monkey", a notorious radio heckler in the region.””

"It is very difficult or even impossible for Yankees to admit mistake"

Normally, that comment would p@#$ me off as being pretty assumptive,
since your news sources are no doubt as "fair and balanced" as ours;
however, given our current president.....

But Farzad, I make mistakes every day. And I really try not to lie.
Maybe we should be negotiating for our countries....

It's much more difficult for Arabs to do so, wouldn't you say, Farzad?

Remember 'Baghdad Bob' who worked for Saddam? The guy who was saying that the American and British forces were being 'beaten back' - just as they were walking in the door to haul him away him?

No, no - wait a minute, here's a better one! Remember when Egyptian TV and radio were proclaiming great pan-Arab victories in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war - as the Israeli's were pushing the mighty Egyptian Army into the Suez Canal?

Tough for those guys to admit a mistake, eh? ;)
