POLICE in the eastern German city of Dresden said a synagogue in the city has been defaced with swastikas and other far-right symbols.
The vandalism came just ahead of the 71st anniversary today of the 1938 Nazi Kristallnacht – Night of Broken Glass – pogrom.

On that night, at least 91 German Jews were killed and more than 200 synagogues were destroyed.
